 Æther  [ ee - ther ] 5th quintessential element, a space filling substance.

Among its many accumulated meanings, Æther here is understood as the empty space where matter is to take form. Necessarily vague, it can be felt as a quintessential richness inherent in space itself, necessary for creation to take place, for light to penetrate and bounce, for the tangible to materialize and become.

The Æther office of architecture and design lends itself to this commitment of creation, as a space for ideas and open-endedness, discussion and collaboration. We are a team of uniquely specialized  individuals, with roots in Lisbon & İstanbul. Our teams expand and contract accordingly to each project and field of interest, such as urbanism, architecture, product & lighting design.

As a LEED Green associate, with every project our goal is to progressively work towards offering higher degrees of specialization in the inclusion of sustainable building practices and design strategies. A constant focus in our approach is a search for the most efficient building occupation by reducing construction and maintenance needs over the lifetime of the buildings we design.
